Offer Process

A job offer will normally come via your Davis Green Consultant. Although understandably pleased, you should refrain from informing your current employer that you will be resigning until you have received written confirmation of the job offer.

YOUR VERBAL ACCEPTANCE

Once you are certain that you wish to accept your offer, you should contact your consultant at Davis Green who will verbally accept on your behalf. At this point:
  • make sure you are happy with the basic terms of employment as you understand them, including hours per week, salary and benefits.
  • confirm any instructions you have been given regarding your start date, working hours, appropriate dress, where you should park etc.
  • request clarification of any terms of employment that may have been vague in the interview, job offer or have concerned you since.

THE FORMAL OFFER

  • Your written, formal offer should confirm the job title, additional details about your responsibilities, job location, starting salary and start date of employment.
  • You may also receive your employment contract along with a second identical copy. These will both require your signature as acceptance of the terms laid out within. Retain the copy for yourself and return the original to your employer.
  • Your bank details and other relevant information may be required at this stage for payroll purposes.
  • In some circumstances, your employer may request proof of your legal employment eligibility.

YOUR ACCEPTANCE LETTER

  • Thank your new employer for the job offer and make it clear you have decided to accept the job.
  • Express how much you are looking forward to joining the company.
  • Keep a professional tone throughout your letter and check it very carefully for errors.
  • Sign your letter by hand.
